Application Information

  • The Dr. Jim McMillan Education Grant was developed to support health professionals in their academic pursuits.

  • The applicant must be a health care provider working in the area of orthopaedics in Edmonton/Northern Alberta.

  • Funds are available for the following: workshops, seminars/professional conferences/courses/self-study modules.These must be related to your current practice.

  • Funds will be provided for registration/tuition and/or course materials.

  • Applicants are required to provide proof of completion (e.g. course certificate, conference attendance record) along with original receipts within 30 days after completion of the course.  Funds will not be distributed until these documents have been provided.

  • Applicants must divulge all other sources of funding that have been applied for or received.

  • Funding is non-transferable between individuals or education events.Funds allocated must be used for the event that was applied for.

  • Maximum funding per individual per year is $1000.00.

  • Disbursement of funds will be at the sole discretion of the Committee.

Application Deadlines

  • The Award Committee will meet 2 times per year

  • Application deadlines for funding ***NEW for 2018***

    • April 15th &

    • Sept 15th, yearly

  • Applicants will be notified within 30 days of the submission deadline as to the success of the application.
